Winter can make staying active a challenge. The cold, dark days make us want to hibernate under a blanket with a hot drink instead of hitting the gym. But I’ve found a way to keep moving that feels warm, inviting, and funβ€”welcome to the world of cosy fitness!

In this post, I’ll share how you can stay active during winter, from movement snacks to creating a cosy workout vibe.

What Is Cosy Fitness?

Cosy fitness is all about making movement less intimidating and more inviting. Think: comfy clothes, your favourite music or show, and exercises that feel like a natural part of your day.

This concept, popularised on platforms like TikTok, aligns perfectly with what I’ve been sharingβ€”bringing movement into your daily life in a way that feels manageable and fun.

My Cosy Fitness Routine

Here’s how I make fitness cosy and accessible:

  • Walking Pad Workouts: I use a compact walking pad that fits into my living room setup. Whether it’s a quick 10-minute walk after breakfast or a longer session with Netflix in the evening, it’s an easy way to keep moving.

  • Strength Training in Pajamas: No need for special clothes! I keep weights nearby so I can fit in a quick session, even in my PJs.

Ideas to Bring Cosy Fitness into Your Life

You don’t need fancy equipment to start cosy fitness. Here are some simple ideas:

  • Dance Parties: Put on your favorite upbeat playlist and dance around your living room.

  • Stair Sessions: Walk or jog up and down your stairs a few times.

  • Movement Snacks: Do a few squats or lunges while waiting for the kettle to boil.

Why Cosy Fitness Works

Cosy fitness removes barriers like time, motivation, and the hassle of going out in the cold.

It allows you to move on your terms, which is key to building sustainable habits.

Plus, even small bursts of movement can improve energy, mood, and overall health.

To stay on track and monitor your progress, I've created a Fitness Habit Tracker specifically for busy women like you.

This tracker will help you:

  • Build awareness around your habits

  • Identify patterns

  • Make adjustments as needed

It's available for download on my website lisadawnbeckwith.com/tracker

Use this tool to stay accountable, celebrate your wins, and prioritise your health and well-being.

Quick Tips to Get Started

  1. Set Up Your Space: Make your home workout area invitingβ€”add soft lighting, a cosy mat, or a spot near the TV.

  2. Start Small: A few minutes is enough to build momentum.

  3. Celebrate Progress: Whether it’s one squat or a 30-minute session, every step counts!

Let me know your favourite ways to embrace cosy fitness.
